A Triune God

1. We believe in a Triune God – Father, Jesus, Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17).

The Sacraments

2. We believe in the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion as central to our life (Matthew 28:19, 1 Corinthians 11:26).

Scriptures & Learning

3. We believe that scriptures and learning are essential to maturing in faith (Psalm 119:105).

Prayer

4. We believe that prayer is formational in our relationship with God and one another (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

Worship

5. We believe that worship brings us together as the one body of Christ (Psalm 95:6-7).

The Gospel

6. We believe the Gospel calls us to welcome and include all people (Matthew 25:35b).

 Faith Development

As Christians, we are all called to participate in a 3-in-1 process of faith development centered on worship, receiving the gospel, and sharing the gospel with others.

Worship

Worship is an integral part of community. In worship, we experience the Trinity (Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer), prayer, scripture, and the sacraments. We like to think of worship as the launch point from which we are sent out into the world.

Receiving the Gospel

Receiving the Gospel Ministries are the ministries that help individuals to grow and nurture their faith.

Sharing the Gospel

Sharing the Gospel Ministries are the ministries that reach out to others with the love of Jesus.

History

Hope Lutheran Church is the product of a two-year journey bringing together St. Timothy Lutheran Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church.

St Tim History.jpg

St. Timothy served the Madison community on the east side of Mansfield from its formation days in 1952 until the end of 2023 when the building was sold.

St. Paul served the downtown area when it first formed in 1852, then later followed development and moved to the western edge of Mansfield in 1961.

In early October of 2021, St. Timothy and St. Paul began a conversation about consolidating to form a new congregation to serve the community of Mansfield.

After two years of prayer, discernment, and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, St. Timothy and St. Paul gave birth to Hope Lutheran Church.

Hope Lutheran Church is a vital congregation with a heart to serve. The ways in which the congregation shares the love of Jesus in the community continue to grow each day!
